| While there may be alot of sites on the web dedicated to Princess Diana and her memory, I just thought that it was something that I needed to do. I guess I am not that different from the millions of other people in the world who adored Princess Diana. I'll give a little bit of background though. When the engagement was first announced in 1981, shy Lady Diana Spencer was thrust into the limelight. I first noticed it then. I wasn't sure what, but I liked her. Kinda silly to like someone that you don't know, but I always have. I was a little girl (age 10, almost 11) and always pestered my parents for whatever books, dolls, etc.. they could find for me. I remember when Princess Diana was pregnant with Prince William, and I kept saying to all my friends that I wanted him to be born on my birthday... Very silly, I guess. But, he arrived on June 21, and the next day I turned 12... These things and memories are very dear to me because regardless of what anyone may think, Princess Diana was a very strong woman... I think extremely strong to handle all the stresses that came with her life. And, I admired her tremendously!! I admire Diana for more than that.... but most of it we all know.. she was a very good mother... a champion for causes that many would not recognize.... and she was full of grace and dignity.
